[Even though he wouldn't have minded crossing the Tempest with her so she was protected (would she have found it insulting?), it felt better to go on ahead to be sure the trip wasn't wasted. Not that he believed his door to have vanished necessarily... but the area, the things on the inside, he wanted to be certain they were as he had left it.

[ The city certainly is lively again, which is both nice and concerning, given that the last time Stygia was dressed up for a festival, some headless asshole showed up and murdered a bunch of people. And that was right after the woods murdered a bunch of people. It was a lot of murder to take in all at once.

But so far... things seem to be all right. There are plenty of couples kissing in public, which is a little bewildering to Claude since there would never be such blatant displays of affection in Fodlan (or Almyra), and it makes him glad that Lorenz isn't here. He's sure that the Count would've gone red and died a second death from outrage.

But it's cold, and body heat is alluring, so Claude doesn't think much of it when he passes under the plant himself while walking alongside someone, until he takes a bite out of an apple later.
