augustine's very reasonable question gets a perplexed look in response. it's not augustine's fault, it's just that it's difficult to categorize your feelings for a woman that's tried to murder you more than once in recent memory. )


She's my partner. ( a nice, comfortably open-ended word that suggests intimacy without having to commit. ) I — she's not taken our impromptu vacation well. ( flowers, on reflection, are probably not the best way to deal with this problem, but mavis is bound to appreciate the gesture if only for the novelty.
