[ it all goes well up to a point. the puck, such as he is, is familiar to morpheus, a figure that he's seen in and out of his long, long life.

but this puck does not recognize him, another to add to the list of warnings about this place. morpheus doesn't press the issue because he doesn't want to make the effort.

instead, he asks for the lantern which, in turn, seems to motivate the puck into taking him long for the night. and he allows it —

— up to a point.

eventually, he grows impatient for answers and refuses to answer the puck's stupid riddle. it's the wrong move — a bad move — but that's not something he's going to admit.

he's standing amid the white, weathered bones of people who hadn't been there a moment ago. the bones are scattered around him, almost like a cage that imprisons him and tells him what he's done wrong.

he sighs and rubs at hand over his face. ]

( the frightful harvest...is a name. it seems to be oddly specific and not at all creative to him, a name that points to what exactly is going to happen.

but, perhaps he's wrong. he considers, for a moment, not going at all but figures that if he wants to get out of this place, he should figure it out.

so, he goes and finds himself wandering through the celebrations, staying mostly away from the loudest of the revelers. what he finds himself most intrigued by is doran, the man who's addressed them before the start of the festival. if he's the oldest, then he might know more about this place than anything which makes him someone that morpheus wants to approach.

but he finds that it's not that easy and he doesn't want to approach him with any other people around. so, he bides his time and decides to partake in some of the treats of the festival, you might find him:

— popping grablenuts into his mouth idly, chewing on them and barely thinking about the fact that he was feeling warmer and warmer as he ate more and more.
— sipping on elysium after the grablenuts, watching people wander around in front of him, wondering if he'd been in their dreams before. he can't access the dreaming right now, can't access the libraries and it's leaving him...amiss.

later on, he thinks he will regret going into the harvest hunt especially when he's put into the role of prey. he doesn't really want to run but he know that being caught so easily would look rather foolish.

so, while he doesn't run, he does make a small effort, hiding and using his natural ability to blend into the shadows to move in and around those that might be looking for him. )
