[His head turns just so, eyes swinging to meet Jonas’s face. Luckily, there is only the echo of the gravitational pull of the burning embers of how red his eyes had been before.

Lighter now, fainter. It isn’t so captivating and heady. Simple, stoic D is returning slowly, but not quite there yet.]

I was in a forest. [His lashes lower a little over his eyes as if he’s trying to look away from Jonas’s scent.] I ran into a silent man with a crossbow who wouldn’t answer me. He was a sentinel to an estate, and I followed him. Inside was a ball, vampires and humans together, dancing. She was there dancing too. But she wouldn’t tell me what she wanted from me.

I woke up. In the town nearby, I was told a woman had been bitten by a vampire, and she had been asleep for thirty years. I found I couldn’t leave the village; going out lead me back in again. It was… also a dream. Every time I would sleep, it would be her dream at the ball. There wasn’t anything I could do for her.

She wanted me to kill her.
