[Even in her evident calmness, Sasuke senses the change to tone and disposition, eyes lifting to look at his former teammate critically. The way Sakura speaks to him is not what he's used to. Not the excitable, deferent girl on his genin team; neither the sad, doleful young woman who had once believed she could kill him — and was surprised when he committed to the same. There is guilt in many of his interactions with Sakura that doesn't exist with Naruto. Guilt for his behavior, not only in the later years of his own grief and hatred at the world and those who led it, but also as children when he could not understand what she wanted from him or why she liked him. Where his sins against Naruto were communicated in that bloody battle at the Valley, he's never shared anything close with Sakura. He's never thought he could.

Now she speaks to him with sternness, unravelling his logic and criticizing his judgment. His experience with medical ninjutsu is, admittedly, limited. Kabuto was not a teacher; he administered the results of Orochimaru's experiments and Sasuke didn't care to learn that process. Karin, likewise, fulfilled a convenient and necessary role on his team. And all he had to do to benefit from her skill was bite her.
