A rope ladder of sorts hangs down from the balcony that overlooks the rest of the chapel from above the entrance and since the first floor itself lacks anything that looks like a living space, that must be where Bruno stays. Without any stairs leading up there anymore, it was likely the safest spot to set up camp. ]
