for awhile they continue on, making deliveries of blankets and firewood, hot coffee and fresh warm food, and for awhile it's amicable: he finds that he enjoys zagreus' company in person as much as he enjoyed their conversation over soulidarity, that he's a good guy who just seems to want the best for people around him, the kind of guy where a person can relax around him. and he knows he's likely the dead weight here, without anything in particular to offer to others besides the deliveries and a few polite words, but--he watches zagreus continue on, waits until they've circled back to check to see if there are any more deliveries left on the list. they're in the storehouse they've been using to keep track of the supplies--and solemnly, megumi picks up one of the blankets. )
...I think we're on our last delivery. ( there's no one left on the list, though, which might be a little puzzling. ) Sit down.
( his words are firm--and unceremoniously, he reaches up to drape the blanket around zagreus' shoulders in clear indication. )
I feel like you're going to run out of batteries otherwise...

[A titter escapes him, though he does look around to see where he could sit down.] What do you mean? I feel quite alright.

( that's reasoning number one--and by the way his lips purse shut for just a moment, before opening again, there's clearly more. )
It's cold, and I know it isn't that bad for you, I guess, but just...
( --well now he feels a little embarrassed. with a nod, he indicates a place where zagreus could probably sit, in one of the old chairs around a rickety table that they had used to pack things up. )
...I feel like you should take a breath. Or maybe five.

Then again, no one had swaddled him in a blanket, told him to sit down so directly. Somehow he can't help but feel a bit appreciative.
Though he does pull up another chair next to him.] Aren't you cold, too? We've both been working really hard today. Don't you want to take a break?

In a second. The delivery's not finished yet.
( there is a small thread of humor in his voice, at least: and when he returns to the table, and that empty chair, there's two cups of hot tea, held carefully in either hand. one of them he passes off to his swaddled companion; the other he holds in his lap as he takes a seat. )
...Feels weird, this kind of cold. ( soft, as he looks down at his cup. ) Not like a real winter. You know what I mean?

He scoots closer and flicks the blanket to cover Megumi’s back, too. There’s room for everyone, after all.
The smile he gives his delivery partner is a bit sheepish.] Is it? I’m afraid I’m not exactly very knowledgeable about winters. I’ve been to a snowy place but I feel like that wasn’t very natural to begin with.
[Demeter’s wrath, worry and grief are not to be trifled with, after all. She had covered all of Greece with heavy snow at the disappearance of her daughter.] How is it different for you?
