I don't know why they thought drugging us all was the way to go for a festival anyway.

（ ugh. he stares down at his plate of food, and then just. shakes his head. ）

I'm done with this place.

（ he's going to scramble back to his feet, and then dump the plate on the first person he comes across with empty hands. whether grimmjow follows him or not, he doesn't currently care. maybe it's the paranoia about the food, but he feels — hot. itchy.

if he's allergic to some weird afterworld shit he's going to absolutely lose his goddamn mind, that's what. ）

( he is not leaving him alone with all these humans.

grimmjow is following ichigo all the way back to the shadowlands and into his door, where he's gonna sprawl out all over his bed. he had a great day today, so he is gonna reward himself with a well-deserved nap. it will give his body time to patch up the wounds he got from his battle with the fire boy. )

Will you get off my bed?

（ it's said waspishly, as ichigo nudges grimmjow with a foot. he's tired, and he wants to get some rest after the immense expenditure of social energy that was that whole... festival. without chad, or inoue or the others it mostly just felt like an obligation.

although, his time spent with jonas was... you know, nice.

when grimmjow shows no sign of moving, ichigo gives up, and drops down beside him, one arm sprawled across him. if he's going to stay here, ichigo's going to make it as uncomfortable as possible for both of them. ）

[arrancar]

( no, he is not going to get off the bed. this is his bed right now.

usually, ichigo doesn't put up much of a fight when grimmjow wants to take over his bed. he just relinquishes and finds somewhere else in the room to rest, so imagine his fucking surprise when he feels the mattress sink and the weight of someone's arm draped across his chest.

his eyes immediately opens wide as he turns his head to stare at the boy. )

What're you doing? ( this isn't how it's supposed to go??? )

[zangetsu]

Sleeping.

（ comes the affirmative grunt. sleeping, or trying to.

notably, he does not move. ）

( he narrows his eyes at him. )

I can see that, but why're you sleeping here?

[zangetsu]

Because it's my bed. Don't be an asshole.

（ sure, normally he throws his hands up in exasperation and just leaves to go find something else. there's a bean-bag in the corner that's served him well enough and he only wakes a little stiff in the mornings.

but right now? it's nice. even the nearness feels nice, and even though he can rationally understand it's probably those fucking nuts, he's so... drifty-dreamy about it he can't bring himself to care. ）

they finally got to the boy. he knew it would happen. (he didn't.) lifting a hand to pinch at the bridge of his nose for a long moment, a frown creases his brows as he considers his next course of action. he could just kick him off of the bed, but—

who knew what a clingy kurosaki could do?

plus, grimmjow... admittedly isn't as bothered by the additional warmth at his side as he thought he would be. it's still foreign and weird, but not awful. )

Fine. You can sleep here. ( don't ever call him ungenerous. ) Just don't go overboard.

（ there's no derision to the title the way there might be with someone who saw it as a putdown. ichigo doesn't. grimmjow's always been proud of it, and no matter how strong he's gotten he hasn't forgotten the role the arrancar played in that, either.
