[ Rosa has a good point. To that end- he couldn't be a ghost. No more than they're all ghosts. So then what is this? Some kind of illusion? It seems rather unfair that an illusion could cast some very real magic.

He really wishes this was a gargoyle instead. ]

[ Rosa ducks behind a rock, and Claude upends a table to duck behind. Beside him, a couple of paint cans turn to stone, and some garbled yelling about how if they become stone they'll escape their Shadows too. ]

Damn it. We're really going to have to reform this guy, won't we?

[ Claude generally can talk his way out of terrible situations, but he makes a good effort to find another solution regardless. He takes a minute to analyze the cave from behind the table, looking over the art supplies and rubble for something that might be powering the hologram. A conduit of some sort.

But there's nothing, and he resigns himself with a sigh. ]

That's right! You know, if you're so concerned with your shadow... have you considered finding yourself a soulmate? I'm sure we could find you a suitable partner.

[ And for his efforts, he gets another blast of that stone beam. ]
