catch-all (november/december)
WHO: Yuuji & (your name here)
WHERE: Mirth, The Hinterlands, and in and around Stygia
WHEN: November (for now)
WHAT: Notice Board requests, Exploration Log, and general shenanigans
WARNINGS: N/A but will update as needed!
OOC
Looking for CR with Yuuji but not interested in the below? Feel free to BYOS (bring your own starter). I'm itching to explore Mirth more (since it's more like what he's used to in Japan), The Harbors (since he's probably always looking to help with odd jobs for the merchants here), and The Shadowlands (since he spends a curiously inordinate amount of time behind his Door—but not like that). I'm also open to the other Notice Board quests, especially if you're looking for a willing, able, and affable sidekick (who may or may not be possessed by a demon who is getting along swimmingly with his Shadow).

NOTICE BOARD
MIRTH
In any case, while he isn't particularly good or bad at finding things, he does have a sort of stubborn determination to help people that is likely to see him through. Even in the dark of an arguably sort of eerie theatre, with seats and a floor that thankfully aren't as sticky with soda as he's used to.
He starts his search, of course, in Cinema 1. Although it's brightly lit (for a theatre) and relatively empty, you're more likely to hear him before you see him as he wedges between the rows, awkwardly sweeping the flashlight on his phone along the floor. And, as focused on the search as he is, he probably isn't listening for the footsteps of a search companion—friendly or otherwise.)
THE HINTERLANDS
Wait, wait! You've got me all wrong, little guy! I'm basically the polar opposite of the two voices inside me!
( He barely dodges a bull charge, and his eyes widen in surprise and, for the first time, concern, as the ground lights up like magma in its wake. There's a brief but powerful tremble deep within him as he recalls the horrible things his hands have done, though not by his own command. Well...except...
He shakes his head and barely saves his fingers from being singed as he yanks his arms back, curling them against his chest. )
Would I really be sticking my neck out here if I was a bad guy? I'm just trying to help out my friend! Because that's what friends do! Like talking about crappy B-movies together to get through a bad day, or letting them pick the pizza toppings!
( Do heroic tales come in different sizes? Maybe someone a little more prolific [or smarter] will have some bigger and better stories. )

the tiny knights, though, are a problem. Harrowhark Nonagesimus is not a fighter of any sort except the kind where she stays far, far out of the way and uses necromancy, and so far in Stygia she hasn't managed to obtain bone to work with enough to actually have a weapon.
She's doing her thing and staying so far into the shadows that no one notices her, watching to see what others try, until the moment breaks when she overhears Yuuji and cannot help but ask loudly enough to be heard: ]
Two voices?
[ she's all in black with skeleton face-paint on and short and pointy and absolutely has no idea what pizza or B-movies are. ]

So relieved is Yuuji—showing it plainly on his open, foolish face with a grin and an ill-timed wave—that he finally gives the knight the distance it's been pushing for. His retreat is swift, and once Yuuji starts picking his way into the tree line, the knight seems satisfied with it enough to go back to guarding the impact site alongside the others.
He doesn't really expect a talking skull to be the one who asked the questions, but he is maybe just a hair disappointed when it isn't a skull, but a person with a skull painted on their face. Still, his smile doesn't waver until he recollects the question that had caught his attention in the first place. )
Ah—!
( How to approach answering this... )
Well, so, it seems like everyone has at least one around here. The one that started talking when we arrived? My friend said he's got one too, anyway. Shadows? ( With some effort, he pushes himself to the point, rather than trying to explain something he doesn't really understand to someone who may or may not be experiencing the same thing. ) But I already had something kinda like that before I got here. He's a little different, I guess, but he's just as mean...
I guess you just have the one?
