Which is to find this guy's lost... movies? ]
I should have asked before I accepted the task, frankly, but what sort of place is this...?
[ He's been to opera theatres and stages for plays, but for one, Faerghus isn't a well-known patron of the arts. And secondly, this really doesn't look anything like either. ]
When he said he owned a theatre, this isn't what I was expecting.

Anyway, he mutters something about how the place could have at least left the lights on to make this easier before his attention is drawn back to Dimitri. ]
What were you expecting?
[ Despite how distracted he sounds, he really is curious because this... this is what a normal theater looks like. ]

It's silly, and he's left combing over the aisles and seats just as closely as Dokja is searching, with absolutely no idea what he's looking for. His answer is a little hesitant, because he's become sort of self-aware that he doesn't know Shit about Anything. ]
A stage, for one.
[ There's so much seating, but nowhere for people to perform. ]
And more lighting...? All the rooms are so dark.

The kind of theater we're in projects movies to that screen [ points to the screen ] from that room.
[ Points above to where the projection room should be... And as soon as Dokja does, something comes to life, mechanical whirring sounds begin, and sure enough, a projection starts on the big screen. ]
... Uh. What did I do?

[ There's not much time to ask what he means though, because the sound of a winding reel of film spins into motion. Dimitri doesn't tend to jolt easily, but he's visibly startled as he's half-blinded by a sudden light.
A light that takes on an image spanning across the entire wall, a moving picture. Or in this case, a title sequence, and an eerie black and white introduction, music starting to fill in the theater. ]
What did you do? [ what sorcery is this???? explain dokja ] What are we... seeing?
cw implied child abuse!!
... Or like it's being seen through the eyes of someone who's just barely coming to.
And then a figure appears, face obscured but it isn't hard to tell they're a man. There's a bottle held in one hand, then a belt in the other, and Dokja's heart sinks. ]
That's... [ There's a tremble in his voice, face pale as questions run through his mind. ] —How is this possible?
no subject
It's ominous, painting a clear picture even in its vagueness, but Dokja's reaction is somehow more alarming. He doesn't totally understand what's happening here, but there's a new, stern urgency in his words as he tries to speak over the audio. ]
How do we get it to stop?
[ There's a small stream of light coming from the projection room, where presumably they can do something about this? But in the meantime, the movie plays on. ]
no subject
Then Dimitri's voice cuts through and Dokja jerks his head toward the other man, eyes wide at the realization of having an audience, even if it's just a single person. He's had his past laid out bare for the masses to consume and ridicule him for, and that trauma rears its head now. ]
Don't look!
[ Had the Fourth Wall been with him, Dokja could have acted more rationally in this moment, but the sound of lashings, of a child pleading with his father to stop, voice not dissimilar to Dokja's own, are the only things filling his mind. ]
