at the sound of another patron's voice, the owners look up—and immediately away, when they realize it's just another rubbernecker.
and felix, in a rare mood, answers the man's out loud wonderings.]
They do. Don't ask me for what, though.
[in the background, one of the vendors is chopping around an eye to clean off the fleshy bits. the thunk of a knife echoes in the tent.]

He wondered what sort of place would offer them. If there were restaurants in Mirth that sold such fare? If that was what it was used for. ]
Food, maybe? [ He turned mismatched eyes first to the shopkeeper, who was tight lipped as they came, and then to the man who was clearly selling parts, and then to the parts themselves.
Huh. He'd seen some of them around, but Silco certainly wasn't going to be challenging beasts like this. ]
Felt like fighting something, I take it? That doesn't look like a pleasant encounter.

he does cast fresh eyes at the butchering, though, considering the question.]
Maybe different people here can stomach them. I haven't found any worth eating yet.

[ He asked it, but he eyed the beast's limb, and heard the butcher's knife in the back. Honestly? He didn't think it looked all that unappetizing, but...
Zaunite food was perhaps worse than this, but... then again, most people couldn't stomach the kinds of food they ate. Probably not best to mention that he'd eaten far worse than these animal parts, huh? ]
I never thought that would be a marketable skill, but clearly, you've made it work, here.

[his skill in fighting hardly stopped at monsters, but felix, tight-lipped as ever, doesn't see any reason to expand on it to this random. it's not until he follows it up that he frowns, somehow feeling made light of.]
The coin is just a bonus.
And what are your "marketable skills"?
[the derision is palpable.]

Logistics, running a business. They often called me the Industrialist, where I'm from.
[ They also called him the Eye of Zaun, which would perhaps be a touch more apt. He of course did not mention that he could run a crime ring or stage a revolution. ]
Not as physically impressive as killing things, but... [ Well, look at him.,/small> ] We all do what we can.

[not much removed from a bureaucrat, really. sort of the polar opposite of him. so what happened to his face?]
And you're sniffing around for a new business venture here?

Among other things. We do all have to make do, don't we? Supplies are key to survival.
[ His hands spread, a half-smile on his face. Clearly, there was more, but... His business certainly wasn't one to share. ]
I am used to having a product to sell, but without resources... it's required to start over from the ground up.

[normally he'd just feign disinterest, but there's not much else to do while he waits to get paid, and besides that, there was something darkly interesting in a just-below-the-surface kind of way about this slightly oily note-taker.]

[ Which is...not descriptive, but Felix would likely note the way his eyes flick toward him, and then back down to the monster parts before him. It's intentional, of course, that he doesn't say what.
He is, after all, not precisely the most open fellow in Stygia. ]
You'll forgive me, of course, if I don't share quite yet? No need to let the poro out of the bag, hm?

he's about to say something else when there's a call from the shopkeep, holding up a scrap of paper, and a small bag filled with coins. pushing himself off his leaner, felix moves forward to collect, pocketing both, before moving to leave the tent properly. but just before he does, he pauses, even with the other man, giving him an inscrutable look.]
Good luck with your business venture.
[it's hard to tell if he's being sarcastic. but in any case, he's off.]
