[ Bruno falls and falls and... then immediately stops falling when he lands in Tartaglia's outstretched arms. Somewhere along the quick way down, he'd slapped his hands over his eyes, not wanting to see the ground rushing up to meet him, and it was only after a second or two that he slowly pulls them away. ]

[ He is a very small guy, being told he's light is no surprise. ]
[ A small guy, indeed. But since he seems to have his wits about him, Tartaglia slowly sets him down on the ground so that his feet will no longer be dangling. ]
Not a bad thing, really. What were you doing up there?
[ Set back down on his feet, he takes a hop back and away from Tartaglia and takes a moment to straighten out the green ruana draped over his frame, smoothing it out. It doesn't necessarily need it but it's an unconscious motion after having it for so long. ]
Up there? [ Bruno looks up at the offending roof in question. ] Oh, it's started leaking, that's all. I thought maybe I could take a look between, y'know, all the rain but it's pretty slick...
[ Tartaglia looks at the roof, falling silent for a moment. He can understand why this man would risk it all to fix a leak, because they can be pretty annoying if left alone, especially during the rain, but— ]
Don't tell me you've fallen off more than once.
[ Didn't the guy ask why does this keep happening? Or something like that.
Well, he supposes it doesn't really matter. He gestures at the roof with a nod of his head. ] Do you need help fixing it?
More than... what? [ Bruno looks away from the roof and back towards Tartaglia again. He raises his hands, waving off the very thought. ] Oh, no, no, not. Not the roof, just in general, I guess? I've misjudged my jumps a few times out here in all these ruins is all.
[ He isn't thrilled with it but oh well. That offer, however, earns a puzzled look. ]
Uh, I... maybe? I mean, if you know anything about roofs, I wouldn't say no?
[ Just in general? What the heck is the guy doing out here? Tartaglia looks perplexed but it doesn't remain that way forever. If the guy prefers to be here instead of somewhere closer to civilization, then that isn't really any of his business.

It all depends if you have the materials to deal with it. If not, I can make do with a tarp of some sort to patch it up for now until I can go back to the city for supplies.

So Tartaglia wastes no time, approaching the vine that the other man once clung to before grabbing onto it. He uses it as a support while he scales up the wall with relative ease.
It looks like he's done it a few times before. He encounters no trouble at all while he makes his way up, steadying himself once he's reached the roof. It's not long before he's in the very same spot that Bruno was at before he caught the man off-guard. ]

[ Hm. This is a lot harder than he thought. This structure is old and dilapidated, so it's no wonder there are many things wrong with it. Maybe it's going to need more than just a tarp but... one step at a time.
He hums thoughtfully. ]
Some of the valleys have corroded, probably because of how old this is. We'd need to find the same metal it's made out of if you want it to be fixed properly.
[ He watches the other man clamber up to the rooftop with mild worry. The guy seems confident enough about this but what if he falls, too? Bruno can't offer the same catch he'd been offered. He's fairly sure he'd just get crushed under a falling Tartaglia if it came to that. ]
The valleys? [ Valleys? What? He thinks for a second or two, trying to recall where he'd even seen metal up there— ah. ] You mean the... those things. The things leading to the gutters?
[ Bruno stares at him for half a moment before blinking and then giving his head a shake. If only they were giving out postings to repair things! That would make his life immediately easier. ]
Oh, no, it's... this is, um. [ He waves towards the chapel itself, turning to look at it while he does. ] This is where I live. Most of my stuff is up in the balcony and that's still fine, like, as in nothing is dripping down there, but I don't really want to wake up to puddles of water all over the chapel floor, either.
[ There's no judgment in that tone. Can't blame a guy for wanting to live away from the rest of the population, but it can't be easy out here. If the state of the chapel is anything to go by. ]
If you want, there's an apartment complex in Serene where the rent is low and you get free meals. No pressure if you'd prefer to stay here though.
[ He at least knows what an apartment is. They don't have them in the village — everyone would chip in with labor and help build new houses as needed instead — but the concept existed before the mountains went up, it's not like he's never heard of them. ]
In Serene... I do like Serene. [ It's peaceful. It's safe. But, ] Only I don't have much money at all. I. I mostly just trade stuff I dig out of the ruins out here for, uh, other stuff, so...
You might be able to talk to the landlady and work something out. She's pretty reasonable if you explain your situation. Maybe you can help do things at the complex, like some chores...

[ This is just how Tartaglia is. Even if Bruno doesn't look pitiable, he would have offered him the same thing. Money doesn't mean much to the Harbinger when he comes from a modest seaside village. Whatever he earns end up going to his family, and well, they're not here (thankfully) so it might as well go to someone who needs it.
