Callisto is so compassionate... willing to kiss D to release him from standing like a 🗿 beneath the mistletoe. As Callisto approaches, D doesn't flinch or step back. He tips his head slightly back to lift the brim of the hat away as Callisto leans in. The taunt feels very much like Callisto's brand of humor, and it doesn't faze him it seems.]

honestly, he was so accustomed to the hat, he almost forgot... how out of place it is. not that he's casting judgement on it, but that it was unique and specific to him. ... and likely it's the best call to the situation, not that it makes the act of him removing it any less amusing.

there's a touch of a smile on his lips, and maybe in light of the laugh, he guesses d genuinely deserved this. not that he says that. instead, he gives a slight nod of his head before he tilts his head slightly and presses his lips against d's.

the movement is so feathery light that maybe it could be missed as a kiss entirely. ]

The hat is very infamous, and when it’s gone, he appears strangely younger. Or perhaps less intimidating than he did with the added attire.

He doesn’t mind that the kiss is a ghost of one. Why he offers Callisto back is much the same, something distantly professional. Not the worst kiss in practice, but maybe the worst in romance.]

actually, he does notice the difference it seems to make, but well... he always had a relatively positive opinion of him. so it doesn't make him appear any more or less approachable. does this mean callisto was impervious? who knows.

but, the nonchalance between their shared intimacy almost makes him laugh. normally, he would have been offended, but he... genuinely can't picture d any other way, and so he supposes this is a pass... ]
