Oh, yeah, the Sun is very bright. I'm sure that does the trick. I wonder if that's why Charon wears it, too.

[Why does it look like he had forgotten about the bright sun? Well.

Should he have asked for a hat when he stumbled upon Charon's shop on his way up? The sun had been so bright on the surface, it actually left a lingering feeling on his skin.

Though, he liked it. It reminded him of someone dear to him. It felt like a reward, in a sense, to see it peaking out the horizon each time as the snow melted underneath his feet.]

[He sees now. It’s charming Charon has a hat, but a little darkly humorous to have parallels to the underworld boatman.

Reaching up with his free hand, D pulls the hat off his head and brings it into the scant space between them, upside down. No rabbits peak out.

With the hat gone, it’s easier to tell how much of a young man D actually is, someone who physically looks just a hop and a skip into adulthood. He seems more human, too, this way.]

[Zagreus brightens up, a little amazed, though he supposes he shouldn't be. D seems distinguished enough to know of other worlds, of other times.] Right! You've heard of him, then?

[And oh. No wonder Zag had felt D was somewhat familiar. His features convey some grace that only those Chthonic had to them. He had always felt a little crude around the edges around them, even when he thought Nyx herself had mothered him. It's the hat-flattened hair that betrays his humanity, and Zagreus can't help but be a little endeared.

His feet shift a little, restless little things, as he remembers Artemis, some of the Exalted in Elysium.] What did you hunt?

[At least, he’s heard the legends of that sort of mythology. He thinks he understands Zagreus a little more for it.

Carefully, he situated the hat on his head again.]

I hunted the Nobles. Humans would hire me to hunt the ones disturbing them.

[Carefully, without losing the crystal, D opens their hands a little to let Zagreus check on their crystal.

Yes. The life of a hunter isn’t for just anyone. It’s not meant for humans, but many if them do it.
