[ dimitri has been nothing but pleasant to her since they met, so it is a little surprising to hear him say that... then again, what you see doesn't necessarily mean that's all someone is. ]

Most would say that I'm dour company at best. [ it gets much worse than that, though. ] Truthfully, despite the soirees and functions that come with wealth and nobility, I've never known how to conduct myself in places like these. Festivities and the like, I mean.

Yes, although the company here has been far better than what I'm used to.

[ she doesn't mean just dimitri though; most of the gatherings she's used to are a lot of important people sucking up to more important people, and doing your best to not give someone else a reason to talk about you negatively.

Someone suggested that I check out the school, so I think I'll do that and see if I learn anything interesting.

[ she doesn't sound like she's too convinced that'll lead to something helpful though, going by what's advertised as the curriculum... but better to check all avenues than not. ]

Oh, you are about the age to be enrolled in school. I was about seventeen when I was in Academy myself.

I figure that even if nothing ends up being interesting, it could potentially be useful to really see what this area finds important enough to teach...
